Kitchen alterations

The owners of this Gray Young Kelburn house wanted a ‘Downton Abbey’ style kitchen with the convenience of modern appliances and easy-care surfaces.

The early 20th-century house has undergone minor alterations during the last 100 years and maintaining the character and proportions of the interior space was important.

The kitchen joinery is solid pine with a slightly distressed finish to the paintwork. Modern features such as soft-close hinges and drawer closures and built-in bins have been included.

New timber windows and doors match the style of the existing house and are double-glazed to meet building code requirements.
